About A Personal Life Coach
I was born on a farm, the younger of two boys. I learned early about hard work, little money and fixing things. I learned invaluable lessons about seasons, growing crops and handling animals.
I started selling and doing odd jobs (in addition to the farm responsibilities) as a young teenager to earn spending money. I learned about door-to-door selling, driving taxi and working in a grocery store. I worked in a print shop, as a night watchman and in life insurance sales. I have worked in factories, in retail stores and as a manufacturer’s representative. I have worked for good (and not-so-good) bosses and have been both a manager and supervisor.
I have taken start-up companies and expanded their business Canada-wide. I have won trips and awards for sales achievement. I have started or been full/part owner of more than 12 companies. I have made money - and I have lost money. Let me tell you, it’s far more fun to succeed and make money!
But I have learned far more from my mistakes and losing my money. I have had great employees and non-productive employees. I have had good partners and have been “taken to the cleaners” by others. I have had great business success and have faced bankruptcy.
I received my Bachelor’s degree thirty years after graduating with my College diploma. I have served on several business boards of directors and many charitable boards of directors. I have volunteered in my community and I believe in returning my good fortune to my community.
I believe in family, friends and community. I believe in loyalty, keeping your word and only promising what you can do – and doing it! I’m a basketball coach as well as a life coach. I’m a mentor and I spend time teaching others the lessons I have learned in business, life, relationships and sports.
I believe my varied work experience, my community involvement, my life experiences and a life of listening to others uniquely qualify me to be your personal life coach, or if you prefer a group, your seminar instructor.
Now the most important question! Why should you allow me to help you in the place you are? Here in summary are a few reasons you should subscribe to my newsletter and perhaps expand that commitment to some personal assessment time.
1) I started doing life coaching in college in the late 60’s (it wasn’t
called life coaching then). I was the un-official dormitory counselor for
many in the college I attended, often talking far into the night.
2) I started coaching basketball as a player/coach while in college.
3) I started officiating basketball while in college as well. (I really
should have spent more time studying….but I did graduate!!!)
4) I have worked in many areas of life as said above.
5) I have started and/or purchased several companies so I understand the
requirements and challenges to make each successful.
6) I have worked for or owned small companies with few employees and large
companies with many employees so I understand the dynamics that size brings
to employees and management.
7) I have mentored many individuals over the years. Mentoring can take a
few sessions or many sessions depending the individual and the diverse reasons
for the mentoring.
8) I have served on the Board of Directors for several businesses.

well the pressures that working with volunteers create.

for a large (15,000 full time students) local college.

intent on improving all aspects of their individual businesses for the last
three years.

helped people during relationship break-ups.
17) I am happily married going into our 39th year with two married daughters
and two grandchildren.
